Shari Frost has been a classroom teacher, reading specialist, staff developer, and instructor at the university level. For more than 25 years, Frost taught K–5 in the Chicago Public Schools, and she was awarded the Golden Apple Award for Exemplary Teaching in 2000. Her classroom has been featured in instructional videos by the National Council of Teachers of English, Celebration Press, Scott Foresman, the State of Illinois, and the CTELL Project and in the Annenberg Teaching Reading K–2 video series. Frost has written articles in professional journals and magazines and chapters in professional books and is a regular columnist in Choice Literacy, an online publication.
