Alexs Pate's Innocent Classroom: Building Authentic Relationships with Each and Every Child

In this foundational Virtual Author Workshop series, Innocent Classroom trainer Julian Condie (pictured) will focus on the power educators have to restore relationships in their classrooms. Innocent relationships center the humanity of teacher and child and create spaces liberated from stereotypes and negative narratives. Julian will introduce the Innocent Classroom relationship building methodology that helps teachers create places free of implicit bias—leading to a transformed system where everyone is aware of their power and unlimited potential. Educators will learn new relationship building skills that can be applied immediately resulting in improved academic engagement and fewer disciplinary incidents.

About the Authors

Julian Condie is associate vice president at Innocent Technologies and an Innocent Classroom trainer. In his role, Condie works with schools and school districts to prepare for Innocent Classroom workshops and ensures the quality and effectiveness of all Innocent Classroom programs. As a trainer, Condie has helped educators across the country improve relationships with their students, improving academic and social outcomes for Black, indigenous, and other children of color. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota.
